Intekhab Khan is a Legal Practitioner who has over 27 years of legal experience in Singapore. He was also admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 2007 and is qualified to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales.
He is a founding member of Messrs M & A Law Corporation and is its Managing Director and the Head of the Litigation and Arbitration Practice. He is also a registered Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public.

Intekhab has a wealth of legal experience in both domestic and international arbitrations, having advised both local and foreign clients on commercial contracts, construction projects and general commercial and corporate law.
He also advises on claims ranging from media and entertainment, trusts, insurance, guarantees, credit and security, mortgages, defamation, professional negligence, civil divorces and family disputes and shariah matters to advising / having advised various prominent and proprietary clubs including National Sports Associations on disciplinary matters and the national body, Singapore Sports Council (now known as “Sports SG” on various issues, including the drafting of legal agreements and regulations).
In his practice, Intekhab has acted for judicial managers in relation to various aspects of the judicial management process, including advising on corporate restructuring plans and incidental litigation disputes. His insolvency litigation practice involves acting for creditors, receivers, judicial managers and liquidators in insolvency and priority disputes.
In addition, he has acted as counsel in a domestic and an international arbitration concerning an investors’ dispute over a prominent coal mining asset in Kalimantan Indonesia worth US$1.8billion, eventually, attaining a favourable result for the clients.
Intekhab Khan has also successfully argued cases at all levels of the Singapore Courts, including the highest Court - the Court of Appeal and also appeared before the Honourable Chief Justice in several criminal appeals. Some of the prominent matters that he had acted against and/or defended and advised include:
- The landmark High Court decision in our clients’ favour confirming the position that Judicial Managers can be sued and can be “personally liable for liabilities incurred during their term as Judicial Managers up to the point they disclaim liability”;
- Advised and successfully acted for clients in a Supreme Court action followed by two rounds of appeal and culminating with the final decision of the Court of Appeal, in favour of our clients, invalidating the instruments of assignment of loan agreements and providing critical legal guidelines on ratification of a company’s unauthorised actions;
- Successfully instituted legal proceedings against a multi-national bank in respect of, inter alia, matters involving conversion and negligence in carrying out/executing investments for a private client;
- Advised and acted for a foreign spouse in a divorce involving numerous matrimonial properties worth in excess of S$15 million;
- Advised and successfully acted for a coal mining Company in a reverse takeover listing on the Catalist Board valued at more than US$150 million;
- Advised and successfully acted for a few target companies and a mine in the Republic of Indonesia in a private sale in transactions exceeding US$50 million.
- Advised and successfully acted for a prominent Indonesian tycoon in a contractual claim against Standard Chartered Bank;
- Advised and successfully acted for a distressed logistics company through the implementation of a Judicial Management process coupled with a Scheme of Arrangement;
- Advised and acted for a Logistics Company in respect of a Joint Venture worth S$300 million;
- Advised and acted for former employees of ACCS in the “Nokia Scandal” in respect of criminal proceedings commenced against them for, inter alia, offences under the Penal Code;
- Advised and acted for former police officers in respect of criminal proceedings in the “Ah Long San scandal” commenced against them for, inter alia, offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act;
- Advised and acted as co-counsel for the former coach of Paya Lebar Football Club in respect of criminal proceedings commenced against him for an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act;
- Advised and successfully acted for Fish & Co in enforcing confidentiality obligations in its employment agreements against various employees;
- Advised and successfully acted for a prominent Japanese bank in respect of a disposal inquiry involving fraud of more than US$15 million;
- Advised a prominent local computer company in its successful claim in Thailand involving professional work and services rendered against a multi-national merchant bank;
- Advised and acted for a listed company on the Catalist Board in respect of a shareholder dispute;
- Advised and acted for a listed company on the Catalist Board in respect of a defamation claim;
- Advised and successfully acted for a statutory board in its unique claim against a business firm for passing off an international event in Singapore;
- Advised and successfully acted for an Indonesian tycoon in recovering shares in a Share Subscription Agreement scheme;
- Advised and successfully defended prominent S-League players in a corruption scandal;
- Advised and acted for an international trading house in its claim against private individuals
for futures and equities trading;
- Advised and acted for an International Accounting House in its claim for remuneration of professional fees in respect of work done and services rendered;
- Advised and successfully acted for a distressed listed company on SGX-ST through the implementation of a Judicial Management process; and
- Advised and successfully acted for a prominent foreign individual in restructuring a debt of more than S$100 million.
In addition to the foregoing, Intekhab also specialises in the areas of construction and engineering - both contentious and non-contentious. On the contentious side, he has garnered extensive litigation and arbitration experience - both domestic and international. He has acted for developers, main contractors and specialists sub-contractors in a gamut of issues. Some of the prominent matters that he had proceeded against and/or defended and advised include:
- Advised and acted for the owner of a major shopping centre in Orchard Road in a dispute against tenants;
- Advised various Singapore G8 contractors in connection with HDB Projects;
- Advised and acted for a main contractor in connection with a dispute with its employer in connection with the Hilltop Apartments;
- Advised and acted for a contractor in dealings with a main contractor and sub-contractors regarding tempered/ laminated glass works at Ginza Plaza and Republic Plaza;
- Advised and successfully obtained an injunction from the High Court against a main contractor calling on a performance bond;
- Advised and acted for the main contractor in disputes with its employer and various sub-contractors in respect of the Sinsov Building;
- Advised and successfully acted for a specialist sub-contractor in successfully lifting a stay of execution in respect of a judgment in the Court of Appeal;
- Advised and acted for the main contractor of the Tuas Undersea Tunnel in a dispute with the specialist sub-contractor; and
- Advised the main contractor in respect of rectification and upgrading works undertaken at the Carlton Hotel.

- Member of the Football Association of Singapore Disciplinary Committee, 2006 to 2017;
